Vanini

Vanini chocolate bars, pralines, and a uniquely Italian liqueur-filled chocolate "pearls" are the ultimate expression of the Agostoni family's half-century passion for modern artisan chocolate making. Like great vintage wine, the Agostoni family has carefully developed Vanini's flavor profile to allow the natural fermented earthiness of cocoa to come through in the chocolate-delivering a fascinating range of sensory experiences that unfold in wave, freely expressing the complex nature of raw cocoa itself.

Starting in 1946, with just a few bags of precious raw cocoa beans, Sylvio Agostoni and his wife Carolina Vanini Agostoni began making chocolate in the town of Lecco on Lake Como in Northern Italy. From the beginning, the Agostoni family was determined to master the complex mysteries inherent in transforming raw cocoa into finished chocolate, using state of the art techniques to produce the highest connoisseur quality.

Today the Agostoni family continues its artisan processing of approximately 10,000 tons of beans into finished chocolate, with most of those beans procured through their unique Equal Partner Direct Buying program-a special program of joint venture investments the Agostonis make with farmers in important cocoa origins to improve plantation quality and yield.

Begun more than 30 years ago, this special Equal Partner program guarantees the highest quality cocoa purchased on terms that represent the most progressive ethical standards for trade between the Agostoni family and their farming partners. Today, Vanini customers can directly enjoy the delicious fruits of the Agostoni family's ethical trade program in special Vanini single origin bars from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Madagascar.
